Our Story
My name is Christopher Navarro and I am a Smithville Texas native. I was sweeping floors at Texas Cedar Products when I was just 5 years old. That’s how long I’ve been around true Texas built cabins. I’m not someone who just now entered the business out of boredom or seeking a new hobby. Log cabins and rustic construction is all I’ve ever known. It’s something that’s a part of me that I take pride in and really have a passion for. Sure I was just a kid back then but look what I’ve grown to be today. I started out sweeping the shops, now I’m building my own homes. I’m the proud owner of Navarro Homes. I’m here to carry on the tradition and legacy of the ones before me. To deliver a quality home or cabin to any part of Texas. “A custom built home with Texas pride.”
When Texas Cedar Products closed after the passing of Dwight Nance. My grandfather Joe Domingo Navarro and my father Joe Arthur Navarro of smithville Tx started their own log home company, Rustic Cedar Cabins of Texas. Now that’s over 65 years experience in the log home business.
I would work for my father every day after school peeling logs by hand and helping with whatever needed to be done. As the business grew and I got older I moved up the ladder. I learned how to run sawmills operate bobcats and tractors. I went from a day laborer to a guy on the crew learning skills in trade. Eventually I gained enough knowledge to be taken out of the field and become a project specialist for R.C.C. That’s where I got my customer service skills from. I got to deal with customers and contracts first hand. I learned how to budget a project properly and break blueprints down to order materials for jobs. To make sure the foremen on the projects had what they needed to get the jobs done and that it was there in a timely manner.
Now as the owner of my own business. I want to bring you that same great quality work. Whether you’re wanting to build a custom cabin or a custom house.
